This is my favorite Japanese steakhouse in San Antonio. The secret to my love for them? The noodles. Also, the chefs are very entertaining. I have not been to Shogun in a bit either and I think it’s overdue to go back.
One of my favorites.. highly recommended.. the staff is great and go out of their way to satisfy you..the food is by far the best Japanese food in San Antonio..will be returning at least monthly.
My family and I have been coming here for a couple of years and my children always have the best time!! The chef is funny and the food is great. The only thing i would have to say negative is a little less sugar in their secret mixture. For the best experience always make a reservation and show ontime because they do get packed. Other than that the atmosphere is nice and they always let the kids feed the koi up front
We had a party of six and it was a great meal. The cook was hilarious and kept the jokes rolling. Food was great too! They have a great selection of sake and it was in the normal price range for hibachi. This was our second visit and we are still pleased… We will be returning.
Great service and hospitality combined with great tasting food makes this one place we will be visiting again. We found this restaurant on Yelp and it lived up to the reviews. The food was cooked very well and tasted better than the chain restaurants in this category. We tried the gyosa and crab won ton along with a few of the combination meals. The meals were nicely seasoned and the Chef cooked them exactly as we ordered them while we watched the show. They offer lunch specials as an alternative to full dinner meals. Don’t look for the eight foot tall gold dragons or water falls; these guys focus on the food and they get it right.
Situated next door to the Shisha Cafe, the Shogun offers teppanyaki style cooking. The family and I were really happy with our chef. He was definitely personable and a lot of fun to talk to. The rice was just right, the steak was perfect and the seafood was right on. I washed everything down with some warm sake and was good to go!
In every city there is a place that you fall in love with it and every time you get back you must go to. This is one of them. When I was pregnant with my first son I hit this place up at least two times a week. So much better than Benihana. It is a little dirty looking inside but I don’t discriminate when the food tastes as good as it does. Do not get their sushi or shrimp they taste funny. I feel like they used to have the best sushi and I just don’t think they make there own sushi anymore.
